About Kate Meriwether
Kate is a native Nashvillian who graduated from Harding Academy and the Harpeth Hall School. In 2002, she received her BS in Nursing from Auburn University. Kate has RN experience in a variety of specialty areas, including Post-Op Recovery, Labor and Delivery, and Mohs Micrographic Surgery (skin cancer removal). In December 2010, she graduated from Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing with an MSN degree in the specialty areas of both Women’s Health and Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in Dermatology for the past four years and is a member of The National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.
Kate is married to Jonathan Meriwether, a physician assistant with Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance: they have a daughter and a son. In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time outside with her family, including their 120 pound pig Wilbur. Kate also enjoys exercising for fitness, playing tennis, volunteering at her children’s schools, and spending time with her friends. She is also involved in the Junior League of Nashville and St. George’s Church.
Kate has had a passion for skin since her time spent in Dermatology as an RN. Having the opportunity to educate patients about their skin is one of her favorite parts of being a Nurse Practitioner. Whether it be prevention and treatment of teenage acne or discussing the pros and cons of various cosmetic procedures, Kate thinks it’s important for patients to make informed decisions related to their care. When patients are educated, they naturally become more involved and invested in the treatment plan, which results in even better outcomes.

They didnt have in in computer even tho i pretegistered. Had to use paper. Asst seemed out of sorts. i wanted a scan and also to get to bottom of itching. it was freezing in room. my paper grown tore. NP took fast look abd it felt she was rushing out so i forgot to ask about my head that has firey itch. there was also a new smell under my breast. i had bathed so embarrassed but she didnt talk to me about it. i didnt really have a problem with NP but did with attitude of asst. Not even a smile in the beginning. I thought about it after I left andMy plan is to find a new doctor and not go back. I am 82 and just need a little bit more help and time for me to remember what I wanted to talk about and I would want the NP to bring up the smell because it was new to me and I have a little gross under my breast, so I wanted to make sure I was OK. I’ve never smell that before.
