With a solid background in acute care and a deep passion for mental health, I have dedicated my career to providing transformative, compassionate care grounded in evidence-based practices. My nursing journey began at the bedside in acute settings, where I gained invaluable experience treating patients across various populations. This work instilled in me a profound appreciation for patient care, sparking my interest in specializing in mental health.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Bowie State University and advanced my education by completing a Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at Walden University. Motivated by a desire to combat the stigma often attached to mental illness, I became a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Today, I leverage years of specialized expertise to deliver personalized, holistic mental health care. I treat a diverse range of conditions-including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and trauma-related disorders-through my experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Beyond my clinical practice, I am an advocate for mental health awareness, aiming to reduce the stigma that prevents many individuals from seeking help. I believe that mental health care should be accessible, free from judgment, and delivered with empathy. I create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel empowered to take charge of their mental health.
My practice emphasizes the values of compassion, respect, and individualized care. I develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring they receive high-quality care that aligns with their personal goals. Whether working with individuals, families, or communities, my mission is to improve mental health outcomes and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve. I scheduled an in-person visit. Doctor called me from their house. Apparently they had it put down as a virtual appointment even though everywhere else shows otherwise. This office is unorganized and unprofessional. there’s no reception so upon walking in you are greeted by someone yelling hello to you from across the room over noise machines. I’m frustrated to be paying for a service when you cannot provide me with an ounce of customer service.

Kate gave me a voice. She didn’t just listen—she actually heard me and gave me the chance to overcome a really tough hump in my life. I could tell she was a little hesitant after hearing about my past, but instead of shutting me down or dismissing me, she gave me the space to advocate for myself. That means more than words can express. She made me feel seen, supported, and capable—and I’ll always be grateful for that. Honestly, that right there says it all.

I had an appointment for a rx refill to hold me over until I can see my primary doctor. She was great at the very beginning, almost too good to be true, I was even thinking of switching doctors to make her my primary. Then during her questioning she asked if I had kids. I said “no, don’t want any.” She laughed and said it’s life and what people do. I said it’s not for everyone. Some people are self aware and know if kids will bring joy or misery . I’m not a fan of doc’s who push their programming onto a patient. Keep your NPC rigid thinking to yourself. I thought because she was younger than most doctors she would be more liberal with her thinking but nope.

I made this appointment because I couldn't control my panic attacks. She laughed at me told me I was on everything then asked what I wanted her to do. Her bedside manner is the worst. I have never been laughed at for my anexity.
