I work with many women who have so much on their plates, from parenting to juggling work environments and life transitions. Wearing all these hats can feel exhausting and sometimes cause you to lose yourself. You feel overwhelmed and anxious most of the time, maybe more than ever before and you are finding it hard to know how to make it better. It can be hard to relax and let go of control as uncertainty feels scary & conflict is terrifying, but this is starting to negatively impact the important relationships in your life and maybe even leaves you feeling like a “bad mother, wife, friend or daughter.” You’re feeling more disconnected from yourself and your parent/partner/child/friend, but speaking up feels like you will burden them or will create conflict, and conflict should be avoided like the plague (or at least that’s how you’ve been operating). Sometimes you notice that irritation, anger, fatigue, and stress come out in ways you don’t want them to.

Getting to know Katelyn Galvin

I work with many women who have so much on their plates, from parenting to juggling work environments and life transitions. Wearing all these hats can feel exhausting and sometimes cause you to lose yourself. You feel overwhelmed and anxious most of the time, maybe more than ever before and you are finding it hard to know how to make it better. What should a new client know about working with you?

I help women step out of anxiety and overwhelm so they can finally feel calmer, more confident, and connected to themselves & others again. My approach to therapy is walm, relational, and holistic (incorporating our mind, body, & spirit). Real healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and connected. In our work together, I integrate gentle body-based (somatic) exercises that help you tune into your body with practical coping tools you can use day to day. This combination allows us to not only calm the anxious thoughts in your mind but also, release the stress your body is carrying, so you can feel more grounded, balanced, and whole.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I aim to help you navigate feelings of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm, guiding you back to who you were truly made to be. We'll work collaboratively to identify and plan your goals that will help you progress toward living a life that reflects your values. I focus on giving my clients tools to utilize each week so that they can work towards their goals. These tools you use to regulate yourself and cope better, leading you toward peace, strength, and confidence. Together, we'll work to understand the root causes of these emotions, fostering a deeper self-awareness, and helping you become more grounded in your life through guided mindful and regulating practices. We’ll meet for your initial intake session to get a sense of what your needs are and where I can help. The first session will be gathering background information and exploring what you hope to get out of our time together. I love helping clients who want to have meaningful, healthy, and enriching relationships with themselves and those around them, people who are motivated & want to dig beneath the surface. This may feel scary or vulnerable at first, but our pace, what you disclose, & how we approach solutions & coping is up to you. I will challenge you (in a gentle way), encourage you, & help you find the tools you need to be a calmer, more empowered you. Both personally and professionally, I've witnessed how therapy can transform people's journeys and move them toward healthy and full lives. I'm truly passionate about this work, and I am honored to support every person I spend time with.
