“This is my first visit to Optum, Dermatology department. I was surprised that making an appointment was so easy. I came early and was called in about 10 minutes. Checking in is easy. I did it online, paid my copayment and then I am done. PA Katherine was very nice, explained the possible cause of my problem and contacted the pharmacy where I will get the topical ointment that she prescribed. She did it very quickly and an hour after I received a call from the pharmacy and my medication is ready in 24 hours and will be shipped free the following day. I am very satisfied with the service I received from this office. Thank you.”

About Katherine Alexis Athanasiou
Katherine Athanasiou, PA, began her career practicing in the field of rheumatology. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Katherine has experience working in family medicine in underserved communities before finding her way back to rheumatology. In addition to clinical practice, she has taught a course on Public Health to undergraduate students at Stony Brook University and lectured on Rheumatology to PA students at both Stony Brook University and NYIT. Over the years, Katherine has also contributed to numerous online medical publications.
