“I live in a small town where getting in to see a dermatologist is six months out. I have several issues and need to get in sooner. I found Dr. Parks on Zocdoc and got an appointment within a week. And I'm glad I did! She was friendly and interested in my history and concerns. The nurses were awesome too. She didn't rush through my appointment and I am able to schedule another appointment within weeks, not six months. So...the hour I have to drive is less important than the great practice I've found. EVERYONE was friendly and helpful. And the fact I can get in when I NEED to, is priceless. ”

About Katherine Parks
Kate is a nationally board-certified Nurse Practitioner with American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the states of Kansas, Missouri and New York. Graduating with honors, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Syracuse University and practiced as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine. She furthered her education at SUNY Upstate Medical University where she obtained her Master of Science in Family Practice Nursing. In 2009, she transitioned to dermatology as a Nurse Practitioner where she has specialized in both medical and aesthetic dermatology. Kate is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. Kate has also volunteered overseas on medical mission trips and has participated in free skin cancer screenings in the community over the years.
With over 15 years of experience in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, she is passionate about treating a wide range of skin conditions across the lifespan. She is dedicated to working closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that address both medical and aesthetic goals. Kate has additional expertise and interest in cosmetic procedures and services such as Botox and dermal fillers, helping patients achieve natural, rejuvenated results that enhance their confidence and beauty. Known for her commitment to medical excellence, patient education and a compassionate approach, Kate ensures patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for.
Originally from Upstate New York, Kate relocated to the Kansas City area two years ago and now has made Overland Park, Kansas her home. She has embraced life in the Midwest, enjoying its community and charm. When not caring for patients, Kate treasures spending time with her husband and three children. She also loves time with friends and her church community. Kate enjoys traveling, hiking, running, skiing, boating, and cheering on her kids in youth sports. She of course always has sunscreen in hand!
