About me:
Dr. McGuinn completed her residency in dermatology at Thomas Jefferson University where she served as chief resident during her final year. She is a native of York, PA and attended Gettysburg College where she graduated summa cum laude in 2010. Afterward she received her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Here she completed a one year research fellowship in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology studying skin cancer, especially squamous cell carcinoma. During this time, she published several articles in leading dermatologic journals, presented at national and international meetings, and received a grant from the American Skin Association. Following her fellowship, she completed her preliminary internal medicine internship at Lankenau Medical Center before completing her dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2019. Dr. McGuinn practices a combination of general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

I got there 15 min early and was seen before my scheduled appointment time. I’m not sure that I was in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. I was kind of bummed it was so fast because I had to go to work! Overall, great visit.

Dr. McQuinn was very nice, however she was not thorough. This was a dermatology consult for my young son with eczema. She didn’t ask for a verbal history of what’s been happening to my son. I guess when she sees eczema, it’s all the same. She even had a genetic pre-filled treatment plan sheet for us. During the appointment, I thought it was going great, however after the appointment, I questioned why she only briefly looked at his skin, why didn’t she examine his entire body? I told her he was coming off antibiotics #3 for eczema turned staph infection. She said it probably wasn’t staph infection. I nodded because she sounded like she knew what she was talking about. But then I said, no wait, he had a skin culture and it was a staph infection. She said, oh ok. She didn’t ask me our journey to how we got to the dermatology office. Office runs on time because I guess a lot of people have the same issues, but disappointed

Overall, my visit with Dr. McGuinn was great. She was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to my concerns. She ordered me a new prescription and gave me samples to use to help treat my condition. I would definitely return to this practice to be seen by Dr. McGuinn.
