About Kathryn Brazelton
A Katy native, Kat Brazelton grew up in the heart of Katy and attended Cinco Ranch High School. A lifelong Cougar fan, Kat completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Houston. She was then accepted to the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Family Nursing. Kat joined Family Medicine Specialists in Katy as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner to return to her hometown, bringing with her years of experience treating patients in Pediatrics, Urgent Care, and managing chronic and acute conditions. She is the proud mother of two wonderful children and spoils them at every opportunity. You can often find her at local Katy community events, participating through both her CrossFit organization and her soccer team.

My only issue was that I spent so long on filling out the forms before hand, however, when I got there they said they didn’t see anything ??
The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. I did feel listened to during my appointment.

Quick, competent and I really liked that she listened. Forms I filled out ahead of time allowed me to not have to repeat forms. So common that offices want you to re-do what you already entered. Not the case this time. Nice. Listened for all details and cheerfully came. Up with our plan. I found my new PCP

I probably would not go back to this location. I ended up here because I am new to the area and my insurance had not yet ported over and I needed to be seen immediately, but did not want to go to urgent care. The doctor I saw was nice enough. It is the follow-up that is the reason for the low rating. I saw Dr. Brazleton on a Saturday. She explained that if my issue worsened or was not better by Monday to come back. Well, the issue worsened and when I called to inform her, I was told that she does not work on Monday. I asked if the other provider at the location could see me and I was told that the providers don't see each other's patients and that I would just have to go to the ER. I have never heard such foolishness in my entire life. For this reason, I will not recommend this location and I will not be back.

I went for help with a recently diagnosed problem: Diverticulitis. I was told they would refer me to a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy before making any decisions. I'm still waiting a week later for that referral. So far, I've been sent one that doesn't work with my insurance, and for some reason, a cardiologist. Don't know why.

This was my first time seeing this nurse practitioner, and I’m so glad I found her! I’ve been looking for a primary care provider for a while, and she made me feel completely comfortable from the start. She’s friendly, kind, and took the time to ask thoughtful questions and really listen to my concerns. I left feeling heard and well cared for. I’ve already referred her to my sister who’s also looking for a primary care provider—she’s definitely someone I’ll continue seeing for future appointments.

I am really disappointed with the service I received from this office, considering the reviews were great. I booked an appt. for a sinus infection and ultimately was not provided service since I cannot seem to get anyone to call me back regarding the pharmacy needing approval before filling the prescription. I called multiple times and left several messages to no avail. So, all in all, I saw the NP, but did not get the help I needed regarding getting an actual prescription so I could feel better. I did not go in to be told I was sick, I needed medicine. I spoke with my pharmacy several times and they reached out to this office for approval, yet nothing was done in a timely manner. If you’re sick and need immediate relief, I would go elsewhere. I will be disputing this with my health insurance. Oh and they double booked my appt. slot and called me to push it to a later hour. This was super inconvenient as I had scheduled the appointment to coincide with my lunch hour.

Nurse Practitioner Kathryn Brazelton was incredible. She made me feel comfortable. She listened to all of my concerns. She explained everything to me clearly. I left feeling informed. I knew I was in good hands with her.

I contacted the office to request that my prescription be sent to the pharmacy. I waited on the line for approximately 40 minutes without a response. Consequently, I visited the office in person to inquire whether the prescription had been sent, only to find that it had indeed been overlooked. However, I would like to commend Ms. Brazelton for her professionalism, kindness, and excellent care she provided during my visit.

My medical exam took less then 10 minutes, I felt rushed out and my physical problem not taken seriously. 6 days after the exam and the labs taken, I am still waiting the results to be read and discussed with me so we can go on with further treatment and referral. This is unacceptable!!

I am an avid supporter of NPs and was very happy with my experience seeing Kathryn Brazelton! I’ve seen a variety of docs, NPs, and she really stood out. She has great bedside manner and really listens to your concerns. I didn’t feel rushed which is also great, as many appointments feel like you wait forever just to see the provider for 5 min. That was definitely not the case for me! She also does well women exams which is a huge plus. I’m excited to have a new primary care provider that listens and takes time to make sure I have great care!! Thank you
