What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide a free 15-minute consultation call prior to scheduling an initial visit to determine if we are a good treatment fit. If we proceed with an initial visit, you and I will schedule a 90 minute meeting where I gain an in-depth understanding of you and what you hope to gain from treatment. We then create a plan of treatment together in the initial session where you will learn about which treatment approaches we will use and why. The techniques I use are cognitive (thought based), behavioral (action based), emotional, and dialectical (balance based). We use these techniques to address things impacting your quality of life, and also learn how to apply these when new situations arise. I'll meet with you once or twice a week to get you feeling better quickly. Once you are feel better we will meet less often, or when you reach out for a check-up.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical follow-up visit begins with a brief check-in to create a goal of what we want the session to accomplish. We may also review our plan of treatment to determine what to focus on. During our visit we work to address a specific concern with techniques and skills that can also apply to your life in general. We then plan how you can use these skills in your day-to-day life outside of the visit, and plan the actions you will take between visits.
