Marriage and Family Therapist
CO
I believe we all deserve the opportunity to tell our story and have our story heard in an environment free of judgment. We are all unique in our own way, and I look forward to listening to your story to better understand and support your goals. My theoretical approach combines narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy to encourage you to become the expert in your story while discovering a better sense of self-connection in a disconnected world. I work hard to encourage a sense of truth in my therapeutic space – an opportunity to shed the layers of inauthenticity society often encourages us to don throughout life. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I enjoy working with all populations, from individuals, couples, and families – no matter how you define these systems.

Getting to know Kathryn Flinchbaugh

I believe we all deserve the opportunity to tell our story and have our story heard in an environment free of judgment. We are all unique in our own way, and I look forward to listening to your story to better understand and support your goals. My theoretical approach combines narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy to encourage you to become the expert in your story while discovering a better sense of self-connection in a disconnected world. I work hard to encourage a sense of truth in my therapeutic space – an opportunity to shed the layers of inauthenticity society often encourages us to don throughout life. What should a new client know about working with you?

I often engage in a direct and challenging style of therapy. Anyone can ask "How does that make you feel?" but a systems therapist will ask you how even got here and how you can better understand your systems to break free of them. We all deserve to live authentically, free of judgement, negative conflict cycles, communication struggles and relationships that no longer serve you. Let's break free together!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial session will be a get to know each other session. I often ask a lot of questions to better understand your systems - what makes you you. From there, I often engage in casual but directed talk therapy, we can have a plan or we can see where the conversation takes us. We will begin with you story and goals - deconstructing your narrative and experiences to better identify where there is opportunity for growth, increased understanding and room for boundaries. Boundaries and balance. My favorite two words!
