Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
186 Lincoln St, Ste 214, Boston, MA
*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment* I’m a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with dual Master’s degrees—one in Nursing from Norwich University and another in Mental Health Counseling from UMass Boston. I bring experience in mental health care across diverse settings, including community mental health, inpatient detox, and residential substance use treatment. These environments taught me how profoundly mental health is shaped by external circumstances, and I’ve consistently witnessed the resilience of individuals facing immense challenges. My career began as a licensed mental health counselor, and from the outset, I’ve prioritized building strong, trusting relationships. This foundation continues to guide my approach today. I integrate therapy and psychiatry to ensure that care is comprehensive and tailored to each individual. Whether through medication, talk therapy, or a combination of both, I work collaboratively with patients to identify what best supports their well-being. I have extensive experience treating a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and challenges related to identity and self-worth. I also work closely with members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals navigating systemic and social barriers to care. Outside of work, I find grounding in meditation, spending time in nature, and being near water, whether walking on the beach or enjoying quiet moments by a pond. These practices help me stay present and bring empathy and attentiveness to my work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At the core of my practice is a collaborative relationship. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care, and I offer medication and therapy in an integrated, thoughtful way. We’ll work together as partners, exploring all the elements in your life that may be influencing how you feel. I take a whole-person approach to mental health—looking beyond symptoms to understand the full picture: your biology, environment, relationships, and values. I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including: - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. - Psychodynamic Therapy: To explore how past experiences shape current emotional patterns. - Motivational Interviewing: To support change through curiosity and collaboration. - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To help align actions with values rather than fears. Humor also plays a role in my work. It can lighten the emotional load, foster connection, and create moments of ease, even in difficult conversations. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful space where you feel heard and supported, without judgment and without pressure to be anyone but yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll explore not just your current struggles, but also what truly matters to you. I’ll ask questions to better understand your mental health, life context, and goals, and we’ll discuss which treatment options—therapy, medication, or both—might be most effective for you. Therapy sessions are structured yet flexible. On some days, we may focus on building coping skills; on others, we’ll dive into deeper emotional patterns such as avoidance, perfectionism, or burnout. We might examine how substance use, behavioral addictions (like overworking or compulsive scrolling), or unresolved trauma show up in your life. No topic is off-limits. If we determine that medication could be beneficial, I’ll walk you through the process and set realistic expectations. I view medication as one helpful tool, not a cure-all, but something that can enhance and support the deeper therapeutic work. What remains constant is the emphasis on connection. You’ll always have a provider who listens closely, sees you as a whole person, and believes in your ability to grow. My role is to help you harness your inner strengths, make sense of emotional noise, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and stable. And yes, there will be space for humor, relief, and even moments of lightness along the way. Healing is hard, but it doesn’t have to be joyless. We’ll walk through it together.
