Getting to know Kaye-De-Ann Rattray

Compassionate ADHD, Anxiety & Trauma Care for Children, Teens & Adults | Licensed in MD, DC & NY Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck? Whether it’s your child struggling with focus, your teen battling anxiety, or you navigating stress, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care to help you thrive. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma across children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. My approach combines careful diagnosis, personalized treatment planning, and ongoing support to empower long-term change. Licensed in Maryland, Washington D.C., and New York, I understand the unique pressures families and individuals face in today’s world, from academic demands and workplace stress to the impact of trauma. My goal is simple: to create a safe, judgment-free space where you or your loved one can heal, grow, and feel truly understood. If you’re ready for a partner who listens deeply, explains clearly, and builds a plan that fits your life, I look forward to working with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, and supportive. Many patients come to me feeling nervous or unsure about what to expect. I want you to know that I take time to listen closely, explain clearly, and never rush your concerns. I believe treatment works best when we build trust and make decisions together. You’ll always feel heard, respected, and included in the process. My goal is not just to prescribe, it’s to understand your unique story and create a care plan that fits your life

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll ask about your history, current challenges, and goals so I can understand the full picture. Together we’ll discuss options, whether that includes medication, supportive therapy, lifestyle strategies, or a combination. I’ll explain my recommendations clearly and make sure you feel comfortable before moving forward. Follow-up sessions focus on monitoring progress, adjusting the plan as needed, and celebrating improvements along the way. My patients often say they appreciate that I take time to educate them and involve them in every step. Care with me is not one-size-fits-all—it’s built around your needs.

I can’t recommend Kaye-De-Ann enough. For the first time in years, I feel truly heard, seen, and validated. I’ve experienced significant improvement in my mental health since working with her, more progress than I’ve had in a very long time. She is compassionate, attentive, and truly wonderful. Strongly recommend to anyone seeking meaningful, effective care.
Kaye-De-Ann creates a genuinely non-judgmental environment where I can share anything without fear of criticism. Her remarkable combination of deep therapeutic knowledge and natural conversational ability makes every session feel comfortable yet professional. She has an impressive breadth of understanding across mental health topics and asks exactly the right questions while offering fresh perspectives and practical tools. As a nurse practitioner, she also expertly manages medication alongside our therapeutic work, providing comprehensive psychiatric care. She consistently demonstrates professional expertise with authentic human connection, always meeting me where I am. Absolutely the person to see for integrated mental health care.????????????????
It was great! She went into detail about what my medication specifically did, gave me extra tips/tricks, and even put labels on my past behaviors that I didn't even know were related to my condition. Very polite and understanding, too!
I have been meeting with Kaye-De-Ann remotely for some time and I really like her! I was hesitant about remote sessions, but she is very connected and it hasn’t been an issue. Kaye-De-Ann is compassionate, thoughtful, and has good insights. Scheduling is simple, and I response time for email is quick. Highly recommend!
Working with Kaye-De-Ann felt more like a talk breakdown/analysis. I did not feel doctored. As someone who doesn’t like to talk, I found it rather easy and effective because my thoughts were being broken down without someone’s own opinion but as if we were untwining a messy string of thoughts. A talk therapist with higher credentials. Life is ebbs and flows and sometimes we may need a different perspective!
