Dr. Kedar A. Kakodkar is a highly experienced and dedicated otolaryngologist with a specialization in both adult and pediatric care. He has extensive clinical experience, having worked in various settings including community care, private practice, and academic institutions.
Dr. Kakodkar’s dedication to the medical field has been recognized with several honors, including induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Kakodkar earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences & Neuroscience from The University of Chicago, followed by a Master of Science in Applied Physiology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at The Chicago Medical School. His residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery was completed at The University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Dr. Kakodkar has held multiple clinical and academic positions throughout his career, including attending physician roles at Suburban Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists and extensive service within the Community Care Network Department of Surgery. As a leader in surgical services at St. Catherine Hospital, he has contributed to the advancement of patient care and surgical practices in the region. He has also been actively involved in medical education, having served as a teaching assistant and mentor throughout his academic journey.

Was really looking forward to my appointment based on all the good reviews but I unfortunately did NOT have that experience. Had a severe sinus and ear infection for going on 4 weeks. Urgent care/antibiotics did not help, so I thought it was time to see an ENT as I was absolutely miserable. Dr was in a huge rush, barely looked at me or listened to me, and said my ears were fine. They gave me a hearing test and said my hearing was normal, but I could barely hear anything so not sure how that happened. He just told me to continue OTC meds. I left feeling hopeless. Thankfully I got a 2nd opinion. A CT scan and scope confirmed I had a severe infection, and the new doctor actually said I may need to have everything drained under anesthesia and tubes put in my ears to open them up, it was that bad! He prescribed another antibiotic and steroid and thankfully I am already feeling relief. If I had listened to Dr K I would still be miserable and probably have even more complications.

A great experience end-to-end: online booking for an appt. same day. Staff called to confirm why I was seeing Dr. and had already checked on insurance and gave estimated cost of visit. Check in was simple, wait was brief, Dr. was thorough and I had relief of ear pain before I left the office. Booking follow-up was simple.

It is really comforting when the doctor hears your problem and diagnoses it perfectly. I had impacted ear wax for months and after loosing hearing in my left ear, I went to see an actual expert. The doctor was wonderful, kind, and most importantly has me hearing fully again!

It was great! He's very knowledgeable and skilled as well. It only took him about 20-30 seconds at most a little more than a minute to get a camera thing into my throat through my nose and take a look at the site of my discomfort. He was able to diagnose my sickness right away and let me know what medicine to take =). He's got a good sense of humor too lol.
