His research interest has led him to write some of the keynote articles in the development of novel sinus therapies, such as the Propel surgical stent and the Sinuva implant for non-surgical treatment of nasal polyps. Dr. Keith Forwith began his career in research, obtaining a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Purdue University. He then attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio (ranked #23 by US News & World Report) where he finished at the top of his class and was selected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After medical school, he trained at one of the nation’s top ENT residency programs. He has been among the first to adopt new technologies for problems as simple as tonsillitis to advanced problems such as thyroid cancer. Dr. Forwith was one of the first ENT physicians in the Louisville area to perform balloon sinuplasty – a less invasive alternative to traditional sinus surgery. His medical practice is focused on thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head and neck oncology, thyroid and parathyroid oncology, and allergy and sinus disease. He is the father of four wonderful daughters. He is an active member of his church and teaches a bible study at Southeast Christian Church. He is married to his college sweetheart, Sue. He loves all water sports, including kiteboarding, slalom water skiing, snow skiing, and hockey.
