Kelli Anderson, APRN, RN, NP

Kelli Anderson, APRN, RN, NP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
MN
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is board-certified. I have been working in the mental health field for about 23 years, the last 3 years in my current position. I use a holistic approach when providing care to my patients, encompassing all parts and looking at the whole picture. A couple of the theoretical approaches I use include cognitive and behavioral theories. I currently see patients from the age of 4 to the end of life. Some of the disorders that I work with are addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders, as well as bipolar. I have had a lot of experience working with children with behavioral challenges. The environment I like to create is a relaxed, laid-back environment. I like my patients to feel comfortable talking to me and opening up. I myself have dealt with mental health, so I feel it helps that I can relate to some of it. I enjoy knowing that I can use my empathy and compassion to offer patients support in challenging times. In my practice, I like to set goals with patients that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. Making sure that the goals are patient-centered and something patients really want to work towards. During our first session together, we will do a comprehensive assessment. This is a thorough evaluation of an individual's cognitive, emotional, and behavioral well-being, aiming to identify potential mental health issues and create a personalized treatment plan.
