As a person ages, many issues arise such as loss of a loved one, medical problems, or cognitive changes/decline. In addition, caring for a spouse or parent brings unique challenges. I can help you navigate this often stressful and uncertain time. I specialize in working with the geriatric population, including those living at home, in assisted living, or long-term care. I have experience in caregiver education and support, the dementia process, and knowing when to transition to memory care. My approach is engaging, thoughtful, and collaborative. In other words, it is traditional talk therapy with a client-centered focus. My goal is to help people cope with their situation and decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, and feeling overwhelmed. The first session is aimed at forming a therapeutic alliance and gathering historical information. From there we will make a treatment plan to reach your goals.
