About Kelly Boardman
Kelly grew up in the northern Virginia area and graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004. She chose to attend Physician Assistant school at A.T. Still University in Arizona because of the program's holistic approach to medicine. The school's emphasis on "mind, body, and spirit" fit in line with Kelly's belief in preventative care and treating the patient as a whole person. Kelly enjoys Pediatrics, Women's Health, and Family Medicine and likes to help patients lead happy and healthy lives.
Kelly lives in Herndon with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys photography, hiking, camping, traveling and playing soccer.

Very friendly and approachable but I felt like she was in a rush to get done with the appointment so everything moved very fast. Didn’t feel heard when I spoke or validated in anyway. I just sat and waited for everything to get over with so I could just go. She was also very heavy on diet culture. As someone recovering from an eating disorder I found this very infuriating.

The doctor was very patient and listened to all I had to say about my skin concerns however I would only rate the overall experience as "satisfactory". The reason why I would state my experience as "satisfactory" is due to the information that was relayed to me. I went in asking about skin concerns regarding hormonal type of acne and the suggestions I was given by the dermatologist were very basic and general measures such as, "drink a lot of water" and "don't touch your face". This type of suggestion could've easily been reiterated through a simple Google search rather than being given suggestions that are more specific to my overall concerns.

Friendly staff from the start with adjusting my initial requested appointment time, to checking in, and initial intake. I also appreciated the way the staff and doctor listened to not only what my health concerns are but also my desire to find a doctor that took a holistic approach with the combination of modern medicine (i.e. using medication as needed, but finding ways/techniques that would help reduce/eliminate the need to take medication). The doctor listened to my concerns and helped develop a plan to confirm the validity of my concerns, or I needn’t to worry at all. Already have scheduled follow up appointments with this doctor/practice.

I had a wonderful experience. Kelly listened to all of my concerns and addressed every single one instead of picking and choosing. She ordered tests, gave me realistic outlooks and guidance on how to manage my ailments. I've never had a primary care provider that actually listened and took action to diagnose and treat my issues with follow up.

This experience was exactly what I hope for in a doctor's visit: everyone in the office was kind, welcoming, highly communicative, and patient. I felt that my examination was thorough, and that Kelly had a TON of great guidance on addressing my health concerns through behavioral means rather than immediately putting me on medication. Can not recommend highly enough; I will definitely continue to visit this office for as long as I live in the area.
