Getting to know Dr. Kelsey Dawson

Dr. Kelsey Dawson is the Assistant Director for Purdue Counseling & Sport Psychology. She has been working with Purdue student-athletes since 2019 and in this role, she works with all student-athletes for mental health concerns, sport and performance psychology, psychological testing, and eating disorder treatment. Prior to her position with Purdue University, she worked with student-athletes at The University of Oklahoma, The Ohio State University, and Wright State University. Dr. Dawson earned a bachelor's degree in psychology (magna cum laude with honors and research distinction) from Ohio State University, where she was a member of the women’s varsity swim team and competed in the 2012 Olympic Trials. Her doctorate in clinical psychology is from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology, and she completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department Psychological Resources for OU Student-Athletes (PROS). Her areas of clinical focus include sport and performance psychology, eating disorders, trauma, EMDR, and relationship concerns. In her free time, Dr. Dawson enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and dogs, baking, and exercising.
