Hello, I am Kelvin.
I have been a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for over three years. I earned my Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Texas, Houston. I began working in mental health ten years ago, providing inpatient psychiatric care starting at the University of Texas Health Harris County Psychiatric Center before joining Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a PMHNP, I also started as an inpatient provider and have provided care in both clinic and outpatient settings.
I have extensive experience treating patients with a variety of mental health conditions at varying levels of acuity. While my focus is medication management, I believe that medications assist the client in gaining control of their situation. The client also has an important role in doing what is within their power, alongside the medication, to achieve optimal results.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Client will walk away with a sense of being heard and understood. The exchange of information is essential for establishing and maintaining an effective treatment plan. My approach is non judgement and encourages an open exchange of information. Mental health is a subjective experience and is very unique to each individual. Support and understanding are the keys to successful outcomes.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
