Getting to know Kelvinda Kamara

I’m a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with more than thirteen years of experience in healthcare and mental health. My passion is helping people feel seen, heard, and supported as they work toward better physical and emotional wellness. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms, and meeting each patient where they are with compassion and evidence-based care. As the co-founder of Nurse Practitioner On Call and K&I Healthcare Services, I’ve had the privilege of serving diverse communities across Maryland through personalized, accessible care. I’m also the founder of NPOC Wellness, where we focus on holistic health through weight management, peptides, supplements, GLP1 therapies, IV hydration, and online therapy. My goal is to create a safe and empowering space for every patient, one where you can take charge of your health, heal deeply, and thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect care that is compassionate, thorough, and grounded in real partnership. My goal is to understand the whole you, your health, your habits, your stressors, and your goals so we can create a plan that genuinely supports your well-being. I take time to listen without judgment, explain your options clearly, and make sure you feel heard and involved in every decision. Whether we’re addressing mental health concerns, physical wellness, weight management, or long-term lifestyle changes, I approach each visit with empathy and evidence-based care. Patients often tell me they appreciate my warmth, direct communication, and ability to make complex issues feel manageable. I believe in practical, personalized treatment—not one-size-fits-all solutions. You’ll receive support that is tailored to your unique needs, culture, and daily life. You deserve a provider who sees you as a partner in your care. My commitment is to help you feel better, move forward confidently, and experience meaningful improvements in your mental and physical health.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you begin your wellness journey with me, you can expect a process that is personalized, evidence-based, and focused on long-term results, not quick fixes. 1. Comprehensive Initial Evaluation Your first visit includes a thorough assessment of your medical history, lifestyle, symptoms, and wellness goals. We may review labs, medications, past challenges, and any barriers to success. This helps me understand the full picture so I can design a plan that fits your life. 2. Personalized Treatment Plan Based on your goals, you’ll receive a customized plan that may include: Weight-management strategies (nutrition, behavior habits, supplements, GLP-1 medications when appropriate) IV hydration and vitamin infusions tailored to your needs Peptide therapy options Stress, sleep, and mental-wellness support Ongoing monitoring and goal-setting Every plan is unique—because every patient is. 3. Education & Collaboration I believe people succeed when they understand their “why.” You’ll get clear explanations, realistic expectations, and practical strategies you can use right away. We decide together what works best for your health, your schedule, and your lifestyle. 4. Follow-Up & Accountability I track your progress closely and adjust your treatment plan as your body and needs change. Follow-up visits may include: Weight and metabolic check-ins Review of medication effectiveness Hydration and recovery sessions Updates to nutrition and lifestyle recommendations You will always know what the next step is—and why. 5. Whole-Person Support As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I integrate both physical and mental wellness. This means I can support you through: Motivation and mindset coaching Emotional eating concerns Stress management Sleep and mood considerations My goal is to help you feel better from the inside out.
