Getting to know Kemealo Diane Moussatcha

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of experience across the continuum of psychiatric care. My clinical background includes inpatient treatment for children and adults, community mental health crisis stabilization, state hospital care, and work within substance use treatment centers. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Boston and began my career as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient hospital setting, where I developed a strong foundation in acute mental health care. Throughout my career, I have served as a charge nurse in both state hospital settings and substance use treatment programs while completing my graduate studies at Regis College. My work has consistently focused on supporting individuals through complex psychiatric and addiction-related challenges with compassion, clinical rigor, and cultural humility. Most recently, I earned my CARN-AP certification, further strengthening my expertise in addiction psychiatry and my commitment to evidence-based, person-centered care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A client can anticipate that their first appointment will include a thorough psychiatric evaluation, establishment of treatment objectives, and education on diagnosis and prospective treatment options. I have the privilege of working with many knowledgeable and experienced clinicians and supervising medical doctor (MD). I feel honored to coordinate care with them when it is appropriate given the needs of the clients.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It was strange. I had to fill out a lot of intake forms before hand, but I don't think she read any of them. She just asked what my diagnosis is (I don't have one) and why I was there (I answered that in the intake forms). I didn't feel comfortable talking to her.

She is very sweet and direct with a good balance of personal and professional conduct that made me feel seen without feeling uncomfortable. 10/10
