“Wonderful office staff. Nachia (probably not the correct spelling) the physician’s assistant, and the receptionist who greeted me were friendly & efficient. Dr. Mroczek is a straight shooter who will not give you any unnecessary rigmarole. ? Also he diagnosed his athletes with their sport in mind—nothing unnecessary that could affect their bodies’ biomechanics even further. Overall, really great experience and part of my prognosis requires me to shop for a new pair of shoes. No complaints!”

About Dr. Kenneth Mroczek

Kenneth J. Mroczek, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in ankle and foot disorders. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate Medical School, completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery there, followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine at UChicago Medicine, and a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Union Memorial Hospital under Hofert Sheila M MD. He is an Associate Director of Foot and Ankle Surgery at Northwell Lenox Hill. Dr. Mroczek, a recognized expert, has lectured internationally, nationally, and locally and is actively involved in teaching residents and medical students. This unique combination of specialized training gives him an exceptional skill set to treat a full range of conditions from fractures, sports-related injuries, degenerative arthritis, tendon disorders, deformities, and limb-threatening complications from diabetes. Dr. Mroczek has been a consultant to the New York Mets and New York Islanders and has treated athletes at the professional, collegiate, and amateur levels. As a physician fellowship-trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy, he understands the importance of peak performance, and his goal is for the athlete to return to their pre-injury level. When appropriate, Dr. Mroczek incorporates arthroscopic or minimally invasive surgery, which can limit soft-tissue trauma and decrease recovery time. He is an expert in ankle cartilage, tendon, and ligament injuries, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as stem cells, cartilage transplant, and regenerative techniques. The biggest fear of a patient with diabetes is loss of a limb. Dr. Mroczek has over 20 years of extensive experience in limb salvage and reconstruction, specifically regarding Charcot Neuroarthropathy. He has treated over 1,000 patients with Charcot. As a recognized expert, he was part of a design team that engineered a plating system specifically to reconstruct complex Charcot deformities.
