Getting to know Kesbi Anderson

I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 17 years of healthcare experience, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I earned my Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Union University, which laid the foundation for my specialized expertise. As the founder of Nashville Psychiatric & Wellness, my mission is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where individuals can receive personalized treatment tailored to their unique needs. My background includes extensive experience in both medical and psychiatric settings, allowing me to take a holistic approach to mental health care. I specialize in diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and other mood and behavioral disorders. I provide medication management and collaborate closely with my patients to develop comprehensive treatment plans that align with their personal goals. I believe in a patient-centered approach that prioritizes open communication, education, and empowerment. My goal is to ensure that every individual I work with feels heard, supported, and actively involved in their care. I also recognize the importance of addressing the broader factors that impact mental health, such as lifestyle, stress, and social support systems. Whether you are seeking treatment for the first time or looking for a provider who truly listens and understands your concerns, I am here to help. I am currently accepting new patients and offer telehealth appointments for added convenience and accessibility. If you're ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I would be honored to work with you. I look forward to helping you achieve greater well-being and balance in your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a compassionate, patient-centered approach that prioritizes open communication, collaboration, and individualized care. I believe that mental health treatment is not one-size-fits-all, so I take the time to listen to your concerns, understand your unique experiences, and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. I specialize in medication management and integrate a holistic perspective to ensure that your mental well-being is supported from multiple angles. This means that, in addition to prescribing medications when appropriate, I also explore lifestyle factors, stress management techniques, and other non-medication strategies that can enhance your overall well-being. During your first visit, we will discuss your medical and mental health history, current concerns, and treatment preferences. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences. I value education and transparency, ensuring that you fully understand your treatment options and feel empowered to make informed decisions about your care. Consistency and follow-up are key in mental health treatment, so I encourage ongoing communication and adjustments as needed to ensure that you are receiving the best possible care. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or other mental health concerns, I am here to work with you as a trusted partner in your mental health journey. I look forward to helping you achieve balance, stability, and an improved quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process for working with clients is collaborative, patient-centered, and tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe in creating a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their mental health concerns without judgment. 1. Initial Evaluation Your first appointment will be a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where we discuss your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and any past treatments. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand your concerns. We will also discuss your treatment goals and any questions you may have about medication or therapy options. 2. Personalized Treatment Plan Based on our discussion, I will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan that may include medication management, lifestyle modifications, and other supportive interventions. My goal is to ensure that you feel informed and confident about your treatment, with a focus on achieving meaningful and sustainable improvements in your mental health. 3. Ongoing Support & Follow-Ups Mental health care is an ongoing process, so I provide regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and address any concerns. I encourage open communication and believe in a flexible, adaptive approach to ensure that your care continues to meet your evolving needs. 4. Holistic & Patient-Centered Approach Beyond medications, I incorporate holistic strategies, including stress management techniques, lifestyle changes, and coping strategies, to promote long-term mental wellness. I believe in empowering my clients with education and resources so they can actively participate in their care. My ultimate goal is to help you achieve emotional balance, resilience, and an improved quality of life. Whether you're starting your mental health journey or looking for ongoing support, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way.

I wanted an find African American Male Dr. for comprehension/understanding and the lake of Male perspective throughout in my life . Dr. K was very mindful of the fact that I am on Eastern time while his office operates on Central time. He was able to still make time for the appointment after we realized the time zone difference. He was very welcoming and gave me great tips. I felt I was able to open up to him almost immediately. I will be following up with him for SURE. Thank you Dr. K.

This is my first time in therapy after years of being scared to try.. this experience and doctor has been the best decision ive made for myself probably ever!

You can tell K enjoys helping his patients and wants to improve their circumstance in whatever way that may be. He combines his expertise with the patient’s input and comfort to create a treatment plan that’s doable and progressive. He genuinely makes you feel heard and understood at every appointment! I’d definitely recommend!
In the first appointment the doctor was very attentive, he listened to our problem with my daughter and gave us an idea of previous diagnosis and a work plan. He was clear, respectful and very professional. I highly recommend him!

Consummate professional. 10/10.
I had 3 other providers before K, and I really didn't feel like they listened to me. He did. I was able to get my medications and diagnosis updated. If you're looking for a new therapist or your first one. We are happy with him, I don't see myself switching anytime soon.
I came to see K about depression and I was iffy about seeing a male therapist. He made me feel safe, in fact that was the first thing we did was establish what he called a "Safe Space." I won't give details, but he listened and I didn't feel judged at all. I will be seeing him every two week for a while, or until I unpack these things. The medication helps a lot, but talking through it, I think, helps even more.
My Anxiety was through the roof. I sat across from him, and he helped walk me through a panic attack. He taught me how to refocus and recenter. Psychotherapy is a lot more hands-on than I expected.
Amazing experience! Seen right away, very knowledgeable and empathetic to my situation. Communicated well and understood my needs, made me feel heard and seen. Very much looking forward to continuing to see him in the future. Would HIGHLY recommend! A thug doesn’t normally cry but feeling like I am fully understood took an enormous weight off my shoulders and helped ease my mind about my journey.
I had a very pleasant experience during my visit. He throughly listened and explained my treatment plan and left me without questions.
Extraordinary experience! Thank you doc!

It was great! I really felt that Mr. Kesava really listened to what I was telling him about my symptoms and not disregarding any small detail. He was super friendly and polite, making the visit a real treat!
This practice is amazing! NP Anderson has the heart of an educator and took the time to talk me thru how/why things work in my body. They got me what I needed and they’ll be my go-to when needed. Highly recommend!
I love love love this office. Everyone is very professional and knowledgeable. I was treated in a timely manner which means a lot when you are trying to be seen during your lunch hour! I will continue to use this office in the future.
