Getting to know Dr. Kim Busichio

BEYOND ADHD We offer evaluation and diagnosis of autism, ADHD, and related disabilities—including learning disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, and epilepsy—in adults and children. We also provide therapy services such as vision therapy, cognitive remediation, and individual therapy. ***We are an OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER.*** We do not own assignment of benefits but provide receipts for insurance submission. We accept CARECREDIT. Our company delivers compassionate care and personalized treatment for ADHD and other neurological conditions at offices in Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, and Elmhurst/Rego Park in Queens. The Beyond ADHD team has extensive expertise in identifying the three key ADHD challenges—inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity—and determining if symptoms arise from ADHD or other disorders with similar presentations. After psychiatric evaluation, they create and implement individualized treatment plans, including comprehensive ADHD therapies. Since they look beyond ADHD, the team also diagnoses and treats disorders that often co-occur or share similar symptoms. People seek help for conditions such as autism, learning disabilities, and central auditory processing disorder. The neurology team also has experience assisting children with absence seizures, which are brief and often mistaken for inattentiveness, leading to misdiagnosis as ADHD. The clinical team’s expertise is supported by advanced education and training, including a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University; a Master’s from Fairleigh Dickinson University; a Bachelor’s from Seton Hall University; and a Residency in Neuropsychology at Hackensack Meridian Health, JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. I was amazed by her passion and patience for kids. I was very nervous about my child being comfortable and doc made sure she went above and beyond to get my daughter to engage with her. Highly recommend for parents with developmental/autism kids.
My sister recommended Dr.Busichio and I’m so happy I took my daughter here she was so happy with dr.busichio and dr.Busichio was very insightful with my daughter’s condition
Dr.Busichio took the time to listen to my concerns and the challenges I was facing with my 5 yr old daughter. For the first time in years I felt listened to by a doctor. The proposed treatment plan was thoroughly explained to me. My input was requested. The whole process has been life changing for me. I am so glad to have found Dr.Busichio.
My visit was really nice. Dr. Busichio helped me understand more on how to deal with an ADHD child and how to help her at home as well. She spoke in a respectful manner. My 11 yr. daughter felt very comfortable with the doctor and understood what the doctor was trying to tell her.
Dr. Busichio is incredible. Not only has she taken great care of my health, but also, she is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming her patient! Her staff are also wonderful!
It was such a pleasure working with Dr. Busichio. She made my daughter and myself feel welcome and comfortable. Throughout the evaluation her interest in my daughters evaluation was outstanding. I thought I knew about ADHD, however with Dr. Busichio’s assessment I got to know more about ADHD and more ways to help my daughter. We have followed her recommendations and have told her teachers about my daughters condition and they are very much aware. I have shared Dr. Busichio’s name with some parents at my daughter’s school.
Dr. Busichio made my son and I feel welcomed and comfortable. I had little to no knowledge on how to deal with the news that my son had ADHD. Dr. Busichio answered all of my questions and eased my mind. He’s been doing better at school and at home since being treated with Dr. Busichio. I would definitely recommend her to other parents.
I recently took my child for an appointment with Dr. Busichio. We both felt very pleasant and comfortable from the minute we walked into the office. The staff were very polite. Dr. Busichio was very receptive and communicated very clearly in all the steps that were performed. She also had wonderful bed side manners, my child did not cry at all! I definitely recommend you to visit Dr. Busichio if you are looking for a doctor that is knowledgable and cares about finding the best solutions for your child.
Dr. Busichio was a pleasure to work with. She greeted my 10 year old son and I, and was very caring. She made my son comfortable and the evaluation was easy because of her personality and the way she treated him. I was very impressed because he is not easy to keep in one place for a long time. My son was diagnosed with ADHD and although I can't say I am excited about it, it was good to finally know what was wrong and since then have followed her recommendations. I shared her name with some parents at the school too. The practice doesn't accept insurance but I couldn't find a provider that offered in-network services for this type of evaluation or quality. I don't mind it, it was worth every penny.
Dr. Busichio is an excellent doctor. She is very friendly and welcoming to all her patients. She makes them feel special and comfortable during their visit. Everyone always looks forward to seeing her again.
