Kim is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Virginia. She was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Richmond, VA with her family when she was 6 years old. Kim graduated from Douglas Freeman High School and began her college studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. After obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, she began working with the mental health/psychiatric population. During this time, her passion for mental health grew and she decided to further her education and eventually obtained her Master's Degree at VCU and became a board-certified Psychiatry-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Kim has experience working with the underserved population and has treated a wide range of mental health disorders to include mood disorder, anxiety disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia. In her free time, Kim enjoys gardening, shopping, vacationing, and spending time with her family. Kim and her husband reside in Richmond, VA and share 4 children--all boys and 2 of which are twins!

What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our initial visit will allow me to understand your story. This includes an extensive diagnostic process to include questions and diagnostic questionnaires.
Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $250 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $100 for 15 minutes
More information on payments and coverage
We are out-of-network with insurances. We ask that clients provide a credit card on file and we charge after each visit. We can provide a superbill for clients to submit to their insurances for reimbursement.

Kim is such a wonderful provider. She has a naturally positive and friendly presence that immediately puts me at ease. What I appreciate most is how carefully she listens and remembers details about my care, which makes me feel truly heard and understood. She is also proactive in suggesting options and working with me to find the best path forward, rather than just reacting to problems. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her patients and their well-being.

KIm Vu has been absolutely amazing in helping my adult son with high functioning autism. He had some hard times in high school and she was very responsive and helpful in dealing with potential crisis situations. My son is 26 now and has been very stable with her help over the last number of years and doing the best he ever has.
I strongly recommend her. She is very personable and very kind.

This woman has changed my life. I am a fully functioning person with a successful marriage and doing great in school because she was able to properly diagnose me and provide timely care. Not many providers can do both, yet she does it every single visit. She is personable and professional. She treated my symptoms and got to the root of my health needs. I’ve seen multiple people before her and felt lost. I was severely obese and depressed for years. She helped with both. No wonder drugs here, just a component provider who knows how to treat people. I would recommend anyone and everyone to her. I would trust her with my life because she helped me get back my life.
