What should a new client know about working with you?

I emphasize treating all clients with compassion and care. You are a unique individual, and you will receive a highly individualized treatment plan based on your presenting symptoms, lifestyle, history, and preferences. I empower my clients to make their own decisions regarding their treatment plan and health. Treatment recommendations may include medication, psychotherapy, medical or diagnostic lab work and imaging, nutrition, exercise, or other wellness-focused approaches. I completely understand that seeking help for mental health can often be a challenging and overwhelming process, but it can also be the beginning of a journey towards healing and growth. Whether you're struggling with a specific mental health condition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, we are here to offer a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Please note, due to using a 100% telehealth platform, I am unable to prescribe controlled substances such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, Xanax, Valium, Ativan, and Ambien.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial psychiatric evaluation is a 60-90 minute comprehensive assessment. This initial evaluation is conducted through a secure HIPPA compliant platform offering complete confidentiality. I will review your psychiatric and medical history and determine a treatment plan that is right for you. I will explore other possibilities for your symptoms including medical problems, substance use, or personality issues, as these require a different treatment. I offer extensive education regarding your diagnosis and will create a collaborative treatment plan that takes into consideration your unique needs. If needed, I will order blood work, genetic testing, and/or psychological/neuropsychological testing to gain further clarity of your symptoms. Treatments including psychotherapy and medications will be discussed to determine the right plan for you. We will thoroughly discuss medications, including their risks and benefits, to allow you to make an informed decision. Follow up visits are 30-40 minute appointments, depending on your needs. During these appointments we will discuss your medications, side effects, concerns, and any new issues you may be experiencing. I include brief psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and/or cognitive behavioral therapy during our appointments as needed
