Dr. Kimberly Koessel earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. During graduate school, she studied topics ranging from the cognitive components of prejudice to the relationship between personality and spirituality. Dr. Koessel completed her predoctoral internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she worked with active duty personnel from all branches of the military and their dependents. She has served in the military for over a decade, including several years on active duty and a deployment to Afghanistan as the brigade psychologist for a Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Dr. Koessel is trained in evidence-based psychotherapies and psychological assessment to assist with a variety of mental health concerns. She works with individuals experiencing a range of psychological challenges related to anxiety, stress management, trauma, relationship difficulties, depression, anger, and occupational stress. Dr. Koessel also possesses a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by service members, veterans, and their families. She is a licensed psychologist in the states of Colorado (PSY0004839), Washington (PY60277408), and Michigan () and has been granted the authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT; #6030) by the PSYPACT Commission.
