She earned her Master's in Nursing from Arizona State University and completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Family Psychiatric Nursing at the University of Colorado. For the 10 years prior to starting Spark, Kim worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in private practice and mental health centers, treating patients of all ages. She is licensed to treat patients in Arizona and Colorado and has served as adjunct faculty for the University of Colorado Denver Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Kim envisioned creating a practice that leverages technology to provide evidence-based treatments, including medication management, psychotherapy, complementary medicine, and lifestyle management. She aimed to improve the user experience by delivering care in the most comfortable setting possible-often in the comfort of patients' own homes. She imagined a stress-free visit where clients could enjoy a cup of coffee on their sofa after a simple check-in, have medications delivered directly to their homes, and access their providers easily for questions, updates, and assistance-without the hassle of calling the office, being on hold, or waiting days for a callback. Kim enjoys meeting new people and helping them achieve optimal mental wellness through diet, exercise, stress reduction, lifestyle management, medication management, and complementary medicine. Outside of work, she loves listening to classic rock music, reading all types of fiction, cooking vegetarian meals, and participating in Zumba classes.
