Getting to know Kimberly Powers

Do you find yourself constantly saying "yes" when you really want to say "no"? Are you afraid of disappointing others, even at the expense of your own well-being? Are you exhausted and tired of trying to make everyone happy? It can be frustrating to know that you want and need change in your life but feel uncertain or stuck in how to achieve it. Change is possible! Change occurs through self-engagement, conscious awareness, courage, and aligned action. You can have what you want by obtaining the awareness and tools you need and by beginning to relate to yourself and your life from a different place within. Free yourself from people-pleasing and perfectionism. Rediscover your worth. Prioritize self-care, set boundaries, and build authentic self-esteem. Yes, it's possible, and I'm here to help you achieve it. I am a dedicated Transpersonal and Somatic Psychotherapist specializing in guiding remarkable people through transformative journeys. I hold a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. With a focus on integrative and depth-oriented work, I’ll help you engage and befriend shadow aspects of yourself to support your healing and growth. My mission is to empower you on a holistic healing path. As a seasoned practitioner, I bring insight, practical tools, and a commitment to your investment in personal growth. Let’s embark on a journey together, unlocking the power of your inner wisdom and fostering lasting positive change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love building relationships and cultivating trust and transparency as a solid foundation together. I will always be honest with you and, sometimes, that means you won’t be happy with me or even like me. That’s okay; I’m not here to please you and tell you what you want to hear. I’m here to guide you through the change that you are seeking. The journey of transformation is not linear; there will be times of great change, challenge, wins, setbacks, fresh perspectives, resurfaced old patterns, new ways of relating, and awe-inspiring magic. If you’re willing to show up and do the work, I’m here for it and you; it’s my honor.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initially, we'll spend time exploring your intentions for therapy and I'll gather some historical and present information so that we can create a plan together. Then, sessions will typically look like a co-creation between you and myself to help you meet your goals. I am a trauma-sensitive practitioner, dedicated to providing trauma informed and responsive care. Your well-being is my priority, and I approach our work with a heightened awareness and sensitivity to trauma. Together, we navigate a healing journey tailored to your unique needs. I am also a relational therapist and utilize a variety of techniques in my practice to support your therapeutic process which include: Integrative Somatic Parts work, nervous system education and regulation, guided somatic work, meditations and visualizations, Trauma Sensitive Heart Math™, and a variety of other tools. I'm currently training in Somatic EMDR and will be providing that service soon as well. Lastly, I am also a holistic provider, so my work includes the entire mind, body, spirit system in relationship to self, other, and environment. I am a flower essence practitioner and plant medicine guide. I weave my knowledge and training with illuminated herbalism, plant, flower, and mineral medicines, nature awareness, and spiritual practices into my work.

Kimberly is extremely calming and supportive but is wonderful at getting straight to the point and gracefully redirects my thoughts to the root cause. She has so much knowledge in various areas and has provided me with daily tools and prompts to work on outside of our meetings. She has helped me and is continuously helping me work on and through my unconscious patterns. Her support has guided me into feeling more empowered and in control of my thoughts and emotions while building confidence in my day to day choices.
