“Everything is always great with my provider. I did have to change my appointment time. The 1st time was confirmed cancelled but I still got reminders at the time to be on it. And it said I missed it. Lastly, there is just usually a delay in receiving medication called in. But otherwise all is well.”

Getting to know Kimberly Sennet

Hi! I'm Kimberly Sennet, a Certified Nurse Midwife and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of women's health experience, specializing in perinatal mental health. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University, my Master's in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, a Certificate in Midwifery from Shenandoah University, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. I am also a mother and a military wife. Perinatal mental health is very close to my heart because I personally experienced postpartum depression with my second child. I understand all the questions, the shame, and the uncertainty that come with it. Although I did not receive help at the time, I am committed to making sure that doesn't happen to you-that you get the care and support you deserve from someone who truly understands and cares about you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Having a baby is filled with challenges that are overwhelming and sometimes scary--whether it's baby #1 or #6.. Feelings of exhaustion, inadequacy, or insecurity are common. After you reach out, we will work together to carve a wellness path that will restore your peace, calm, and balance as you navigate through parenthood. My approach is client-centered, warm, welcoming and sprinkled with a bit of humor. So come as you are and let's figure it out together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At our first few visits, we will get to know each other as we set your wellness goals. From then, we will work toward accomplishing your wellness goals. That will look different for every person. I offer counseling, diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, and can prescribe medication, in case you need additional support. No matter what your needs are, our overarching goal is to help you to feel better so you can be there for your loved ones.

As a new patient I was nervous, but Kimberly made me feel heard and understood. I felt comfortable with her. I liked that she made me feel cared for as a person rather than a list of symptoms. I also really liked how she answered my questions and explained things in a way I could understand what I was unsure about.
