Getting to know Kinisha Perkins

Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I provide a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard and understood. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood changes, and other mental health concerns. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that fits your goals and helps you feel more like yourself. Reaching out for mental health support is a meaningful first step, and I strive to make that process feel comfortable and welcoming. I work with you to understand your experiences, identify your goals, and develop a plan that supports your emotional well-being. My goal is to help you feel heard, valued, and supported. Your first appointment is a time for us to get to know you and understand what brings you to care. We’ll discuss your concerns, history, goals, and what you hope to achieve. I’ll answer your questions and work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that supports your mental health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly without feeling judged. I’ll listen to what’s going on, what’s been difficult, and what you want to change. We’ll work together to find an approach that makes sense for you, whether that includes medication, therapy, or both.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is really about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, your history, and what you’d like help with. From there, we’ll come up with a plan together. At follow-up visits, we’ll check in on how things are going, what’s helping, what isn’t, and make changes as needed.
