Dr. Lessnau is quintuple Board Certified in Pulmonology, Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine, with over 30 years of experience. He worked 15 years in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Lessnau has been named “Super Doctor” by New York Magazine and “Best Doctor” by Castle Connolly since 2014. He currently serves as an Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital. Your upcoming encounter at 14 Street Medical Arts will consist of two visits: - Initial evaluation is usually done by Dr. Lessnau’s Licensed Staff Physicians. During this visit, routine office procedures and diagnostic tests such as spirometry, pulmonary function testing (PFT), X-ray, sleep study for insomnia, and sleep study for apnea will be conducted to gather diagnostics for a proper treatment plan. Dr. Lessnau’s office allows most diagnostics to be completed on-site during the first visit, with results normally ready within a week. If needed, Dr. Lessnau will perform a “STAT” / “Wet” (immediate) reading. - Pulmonology Consultation is performed by Dr. Lessnau, who will evaluate all diagnostics and data to create your treatment plan.
