Speech-Language Pathologist
AZ
Hello! I’m Kori, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) since 2019. I didn’t always know I wanted to be a speech-language pathologist. I first explored occupational therapy and education before discovering the field of speech-language pathology—a perfect blend of science, language, communication, and meaningful connection. Through shadowing and clinical training, I found a deep passion for supporting individuals with diverse communication needs. I’m especially drawn to advocacy work and enjoy helping clients discover their most effective and authentic modes of expression. I strive to provide effective therapy that combines evidence-based care with genuine human connection. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including home-based therapy, school-based environments (rural districts, urban public schools, and charter schools), and private clinics. Each setting has allowed me to adapt my approach to best meet the unique needs of my clients. I’ve also provided virtual/remote therapy, ensuring flexibility and continued support regardless of location. Throughout my career, I’ve pursued specialized training to support clients with a range of communication needs. My continuing education has focused on orofacial myofunctional disorders, early intervention and language development, speech sound and phonological disorders, social/pragmatic language, receptive/expressive language, and AAC. I’m passionate about providing functional, evidence-based support that meets each client where they are and helps build confidence and independence in communication. In addition to clinical work, I’ve independently presented on orofacial myofunctional disorders, offering foundational knowledge to fellow professionals and highlighting signs to watch for, along with guidance on when to refer to ensure comprehensive care. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, and rooted in empowerment.
