Dr. Krishan Chirimunj is double board-certified in Child, Adolescent, & Adult Psychiatry. His approach to treatment is patient-centered, combining evidence-based medicine with psycho-social treatment. His approach to mental health, incorporates therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to help his patients achieve optimal well-being. He is dedicated to fostering relationships with his patients and their families.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am very patient centric. I have a strong interest in getting to understand you and/or your child, and from there understanding your challenges and your objectives. I am able to perform CBT and other therapy modalities in addition to psychiatry. I employ a deliberate, measured approach to medication management, which means that we will consider carefully any side effects and may take a deliberately slow pace at medication dosages to ensure it is the right level for your need and minimize side effects.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first step would be a clinical intake appointment in which we would discuss your issues, understand your medical and health history and important context, and aim to diagnose your condition(s) if any. From there, if medication is prescribed we would have regular follow up appointments to check in, monitor your progress and see how the course of treatment is doing, and modify as appropriate.
