About Kristie Walton

Kristie Walton is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Kristie joined Metropolitan Dermatology in 2018 after training extensively alongside Dr. Doctoroff.
Kristie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has over five years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), with majority of her experience working in the Clara Maass Medical Center.
Kristie acquired her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Monmouth University. As part of her graduate education, Kristie completed her specialty clinical rotation in dermatology with Dr. Doctoroff here at Metropolitan Dermatology. It was then that Kristie realized how significant an impact she could have; because skin conditions are visible, that makes them treatable, with high rates of success. And so appealing to Kristie is the opportunity to treat everyone in the family at every stage.
Kristie is an active member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Dermatology Nurses Association. In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

I can not recommend this practice or nurse practitioner Kristie Walton.
I was diagnosed with a skin condition and spent five weeks under her care, incurring significant expenses. On my fifth visit, she "cleared" me after barely a minute, despite my condition remaining unresolved. Afterwards, I witnessed her bragging to her staff about having an "easy" day, which left me feeling dismissed and unheard.
Additionally, I was prescribed medication without proper instructions, leading to severe skin dryness, pain, and a nasty rash. The lack of care and attention was deeply disappointing.

The office staff was great, no wait time, the nurse was great. But NP came in without introducing herself, asking questions, or explaining anything. It was fine but I wouldn’t choose to see her again.

My biggest qualm with this experience is that when I asked for a cause of my dandruff (dry scalp) and how I could address the cause, I basically got fat shamed? Ms. Walton said a reason could be not exercising or eating too many carbs... I go to the gym 2-3x a week and on walks daily. They did not even take my weight at this appointment. I highly doubt this is the leading cause of dandruff in people and it was not very helpful considering I have PCOS and can do very little about being mildly overweight.
Other than that the waiting room did not have enough chairs and was starting to get over crowded. I think they may have overbooked. I'm not sure I would go back to this office.
