Getting to know Dr. Kristin Kelly
With seven years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I offer a comprehensive approach to mental health care, including psychiatric evaluations, supportive therapy, and medication management. I have experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, from mood disorders to stress, anxiety, trauma, and more. I particularly enjoy working with neurodiverse patients and provide assessments for ADHD and autism. I also work with members of the LGBTQ+ community, students, young professionals, individuals managing chronic health conditions, and pregnant women.
I earned my Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and my Master's in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. These advanced degrees have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based, compassionate care.
My goal is to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. I am dedicated to helping clients develop internal resources and build resilience, whether managing a longstanding condition or facing a new mental health challenge. Treatment is always centered on each patient's unique values, preferences, and goals.
The initial session includes a thorough evaluation of symptoms, medical history, and social factors relevant to diagnosis and treatment. From there, I offer safe and effective treatment options tailored to each patient's goals and preferences.
When appropriate, I make lifestyle recommendations aimed at fostering a sense of health and overall balance. I embrace a Health at Every Size approach to support well-being in a holistic and affirming way.

Dr. Kelly and I met for over a year by Zoom. She was treating me for depression after the loss of my dog Charlie. She was always on time. She allowed me to tell my entire story. As the depression worsened, Dr. Kelly, changed my prescription to provide me more help. She also adjusted my meds or sleeping help.
Dr. Kelly is very professional, sympathetic, a good listener, and explains everything that she suggests I do.
