What is your typical process for working with clients?

Dr. Burkman offers a complimentary 20-minute consultation to better understand what individuals hope to achieve in therapy. This provides prospective clients the opportunity to assess whether Dr. Burkman’s expertise and interpersonal approach are a good fit for their needs. If both parties agree, a full 50-minute intake session will be scheduled. Together, treatment goals will be established and regularly reviewed throughout the course of therapy. Depending on the focus of treatment, clients may be encouraged to complete practice exercises between sessions to reinforce progress.
