Getting to know Dr. Kyle Jackson

You do not fit into the mold of a typical therapy client. People who know you would say you have it all figured out and are living the good life. You may have been told your entire life, even by close friends or family, that you "don't need therapy." Yet, your busy lifestyle comes with a great deal of stress, and maybe even a sense of loneliness. People in your circle would never guess, but you might have a trauma that nags at you, no matter how much you try to ignore it. Underneath your exterior of success and confidence, there are troubled nights where you cannot relax and get a good night's sleep, leading to increased burnout. You deserve support. I specialize in assisting high-achieving, cognitively gifted, and successful adult clients address things that others might dismiss. Just because you are a high performer does not mean you should have to carry the load alone. Many people likely depend on you for support and stability. I make it my mission to support you, helping you support others. I earned my PhD in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and completed my internship at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans' Administration Medical Center. I also hold a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. You're likely very busy, and I aim to make therapy as convenient as possible. That is why I offer flexible virtual appointments, where we can connect from wherever is best for you. If you're tired of feeling drained, let's work together on creating a more enjoyable life! **Dr. Jackson does not take insurance or prescribe medications**

What should a new client know about working with you?

**Dr. Jackson does not take insurance or prescribe medications** My specialty is working with high achievers, as this is a population ignored by many mental health providers. My approach is to capitalize on my clients' giftedness and abilities, enabling us to engage in therapy at a more sophisticated, meaningful, and productive level. As such, I will work collaboratively with you to help you get what you want out of life. Therapy appointments with me involve working together to explore and understand your identity and life experiences. This helps me know and understand who you truly are, underneath the mask most people see. We will also work to analyze your thinking, behaviors, and state of mind. All these factors can influence not only your quality of life but your relationships with others. I help clients learn new ways to view and approach their problems, interface differently in the world to maximize their success, and practice specific therapeutic techniques, such as mindfulness meditation, to help them live their best life. However, my clients are generally complex people with rich life experiences, so what we will work on together will be tailored specifically to your needs. I do not use "cookie cutter" treatments, and that is why I love working with bright, motivated people. Schedule with me today to take the first step towards achieving your therapy goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin with all new clients by inviting them to an intake appointment where I can learn about their path in life, their perspectives, and their goals. I may or may not assign a diagnosis at this time, as my clients often do not fit into a checkbox for mental health disorders. After this initial intake appointment, I have my clients attend a weekly telehealth therapy appointment that lasts 45 minutes. In these sessions I teach you new skills to manage your emotions, increase your connections to important people in your life, and guide you through practicing scientifically grounded techniques that can help you live your best life.

Dr. Jackson helped me to better manage my day to day stress and decompress in a healthy way, becoming more comfortable and confidant in speaking about my issues. He was very willing to engage with me and didn't just give me unhelpful generic advice like 'try mindfulness'.
Dr. Jackson provided a comfortable and caring atmosphere when he met with me. Every aspect of my first meeting was effortless and helped to calm my worries about discussing things with him. I was initially hesitant about seeing a psychologist, but Dr.Jackson's compassion and knowledge quickly put me at ease. I look forward to working more with him and continuing to see positive changes in my life.
I liked Dr Jackson. He is helping me with my anxiety disorder. My anxiety made my life very difficult. It was very easy to book the appointments and the televisit was much easier for me than going to an office based doctor.
