“Even though I did not see this, Doctor I did talk to him. He was very very nice and very understanding. He listened. I have Medicaid, but it showed that I was in network with Aetna and we got confused The doctor did inform me that he applied for Medicaid and it just takes a while. Medicaid does take a while. I had to wait 45 days to get my insurance. I would recommend him to anyone.”

Getting to know Kyle Merrick

You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, changes in mood, difficulty focusing, poor sleep, or simply feeling unlike yourself lately. Maybe you’ve tried treatment before and still have questions, or you’re considering psychiatric care for the first time and aren’t sure where to begin. At Harborline Psychiatry, we work with adults who want to better understand what they’re experiencing and take an active role in their care. We start by slowing things down, looking at the whole picture, and building a treatment plan that makes sense for you. I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients throughout Florida. My approach is thoughtful and collaborative: we’ll consider your symptoms, history, concerns, and goals before deciding what treatment should look like. When medication is appropriate, I’ll explain the options and reasoning so we can make those decisions together. Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve felt unheard or uncertain about treatment in the past. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, collaborative approach to your mental health, I’d be glad to help you find a steadier way forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 13 years of experience in mental health care. My background includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, providing a broad foundation for evaluating and treating adults and teens with a range of concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation to understand your symptoms, history, and what may be contributing to how you're feeling. From there, we'll develop a plan together that may include medication, practical strategies, and coordination with therapy or other care. We'll follow your progress and adjust treatment based on what's actually helping. Therapeutic support is integrated into psychiatric care when helpful, including supportive therapy, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and practical cognitive and behavioral strategies. For those who would benefit from more intensive or specialized psychotherapy, I'm happy to coordinate care with a dedicated therapist.
