Kylie Hoover, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
6112 St Giles St, Raleigh, NC
My name is Kylie Hoover, and I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I provide evidence-based, patient-centered psychiatric care with a focus on safety, collaboration, and long-term outcomes. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I spent over seven years working in inpatient psychiatric settings, caring for individuals experiencing severe and acute mental health conditions. That experience shaped my approach to crisis management, diagnostic clarity, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams. After earning my Master of Science in Nursing, I completed a post-graduate Nurse Practitioner residency through the Department of Veterans Affairs in collaboration with Duke University. There, I received advanced training in outpatient psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and the treatment of complex, co-occurring conditions. I also hold a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Penn State, which influences how I think about healthcare systems, quality, and access to care. I have a clinical focus on women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry, thought disorders, and personality disorders. I’m particularly interested in supporting women through hormonal and reproductive transitions, including the perinatal period. I also work closely with individuals experiencing PTSD and complex trauma, including veterans, and take a trauma-informed approach that considers both emotional and physical impacts. I see psychiatric care as a collaborative process built on trust. My role is to listen carefully, offer clear and thoughtful guidance, and work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. The goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but to help you move toward greater stability, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.
