Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CO
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in mental health and a background in neurology. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Carroll College, followed by a Master's in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Gonzaga University, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Family Health Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. While working in community mental health, I recognized the need for alternative treatment options for individuals struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. I provide medication management services and offer recommendations for healthy lifestyle choices, including nutrition, exercise, and hormone replacement therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to providing care is holistic, encompassing mind, body and spirit. I incorporate meditation, brief psychotherapy, exercise, nutrition, and hormone replacement therapy into my practice. As well, my background in neurology and board certification as an FNP, enables me to understand my clients on an even deeper level. Clients can expect to take away a sense of peace and empowerment, knowing they have someone to walk with them on their journey. Treatment, including medication management, will be tailored to every client depending on their specific needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical new patient session will last 60 minutes, during which time I will gather information regarding symptoms as well as significant health and family history. Based on that information, I will formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan including medication and lifestyle recommendations. We will review the plan together to ensure that the treatment plan is appropriate and meets all client goals and needs.
