Dr. Lasner earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed fellowship training at the highly renowned Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Lasner is Board Certified in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Dr. Lasner has been practicing in Virginia since 1997. He has served as president of Northern Virginia’s largest outpatient endoscopy center for over a decade, inspiring and guiding a team of 22 physicians and support staff.
As a top-rated gastroenterologist, Dr. Lasner is passionate about helping his gastroenterology patients achieve better digestive health and ultimately lead healthier and happier lives. His empathetic and extroverted nature helps patients feel comfortable right away.

The stress I walked in with didn’t just “ease up”—it faded, because he has a reassuring presence and a way of caring that feels real, not routine.
I felt lucky to have him as my doctor. He listened with patience, spoke with clarity, and treated me with respect and dignity all the time. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt brushed off, and I never felt embarrassed asking questions. He explained everything in a straightforward, comforting way that made me feel confident instead of anxious. Even his sense of humor helped—warm, natural, and perfectly timed—making the whole experience feel lighter and more manageable.

Dr. Lasner was very personable and listened intently to my concerns. He was forthright and advocated for me to get a screening for my symptoms. I haven't had my screening yet, but overall I was hopeful that I was going to be able to get some additional diagnostics after a description of my symptoms and Dr. Lasner was very supportive of that. He also helped alleviate some of my anxiety during our meeting.
