About Dr. Laping Xu
Laping Xu, MSN, APRN, NP-C, is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner in Adult Health at GI Health's two locations in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, New York. She is passionate about providing the best care to new and existing patients at GI Health.
Laping received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. She believes that a person is never too old to learn and enjoys facilitating her patients' growth and well-being. She returned to school to earn her Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner from Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. Committed to advancing her expertise, Laping pursued and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Saint Catherine University in May 2022. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living communities. Additionally, she served as a teaching assistant and adjunct faculty member at Saint Catherine University, educating undergraduate nursing students.
Laping joined the GI Health team in 2021 and has special interests in caring for people with acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases, such as abdominal pain, acute diarrhea, chronic constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and liver diseases.
In her free time, Laping enjoys walking, cooking, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Xu was wonderful and really put my mind at ease. She was a fantastic listener and really took the time to understand my situation and gave me great advice and the tools I need on how to take care of myself after my visit.
