He is an Assistant Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University of Iowa College of Nursing where he educated and mentored future nurse practitioners for 10 years. Age Range: Ages 7–99+ Treatment Methods/Services: Larry provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy and counseling interventions. His approach is collaborative and evidence-based. Throughout his career, Larry has worked with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, communities, beliefs, and life experiences. His clinical experience includes serving Native American communities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, immigrants, rural populations, older adults, veterans, members of faith-based communities, and individuals facing significant social and economic challenges. These experiences have reinforced his belief that every person's story is unique and deserving of respect, compassion, and individualized care. Larry is committed to providing a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Treatment recommendations are tailored to each client's needs and may include psychiatric medications, non-pharmacological interventions, laboratory evaluation, integrative treatment options, psychotherapy referrals, and coordination with other healthcare providers when appropriate. While mental health treatment often involves addressing serious challenges, Larry believes that hope, authenticity, and a sense of humor can be important parts of the healing process. His guiding philosophy is simple: to be of service to others and support each client in improving their quality of life.
