Laura Grant, PMHNP-BC, received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Chipola College. She worked for two years as a psychiatric nurse at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare's Behavioral Health Center and one year at Veterans Affairs Tallahassee Health Care Center. During this time, she gained valuable experience working with a wide range of mental health issues in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Inspired to advance her career, Laura earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides care to adult patients ages 18 to 65.

Dr. Laura is great. Where I have trouble is with the emails from zocdoc. They are very confusing. They say that I will get an email from Dr. Laura and there is no email from her just useless emails from zocdoc. I had to call today to get the link and then they tell me that it is a text not an email.

Once we got through what felt like a long checklist, she was very kind, understanding, and willing to answer any questions I had about the medication she was prescribing.
During the "checklist" portion of things, though, she seemed rather bored and tired. Because this was my first appointment with her, it kind of felt like she didn't want to be there. By the end of the appointment I didn't feel this way, but just something to keep in mind when meeting with someone for the first time.

She gives you the time you need, doesn't judge, and went keep you waiting. She's very knowledgeable and I trust her judgment and medical expertise 100%. Don't be put off because she's not an MD. She's an expert. I would take her medical advice over practically every other psychiatric physician I've seen in the past decade.

Dr. Grant comes off as unfriendly and does not seem to try to make a connection with her patients. When she answers questions that I have her responses are sometimes rude.

She asked lots of questions before coming to her diagnosis and was incredibly thorough in explaining how she reached it along with different types of medications we could try and their side effects. Last experience at this office with a man he didn’t explain anything and got mad when I came back with questions after I researched the prescription. This was like night and day experiences.
