About Laura Hoover
Laura is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified and Maryland state licensed speech language pathologist. She received her Master’s in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University. For the past ten years, she has worked in pediatric private practice with children birth to adolescences. Her specialties include the evaluation and treatment of children with articulation disorders, language delays, and autism. Laura is Beckman Oral Motor Certified. Laura loves being a SLP because she helps children find their voice and become effective communicators!

We’ve worked with Ms. Hoover twice—once for my older child and now with my youngest. She’s great with the kids. She accommodates their different personalities, and she uses games they enjoy to make the sessions fun. She’s prepared for each session, and she gives detailed updates about their progress and what to work on between sessions. I highly recommend her!

My husband and I fostered and are now in the process of adopting the sweetest two-year-old. When he joined our family, we noticed signs of a speech delay, so we started looking for a speech pathologist that we would fully trust to partner with us to ensure he grows to his fullest potential. I called a few speech pathologists' services but was very skeptical until I called Laura. From the very first call, I remember feeling heard, valued, and understood.
She quickly scheduled an evaluation observation and provided me with a report on the next steps and goals. He continues to see her twice a week and loves every second of it. His daycare provider tells me he will clap and smile when he sees her. He will also grab her bag and hand to take her to the table to start working. To know that he lights up when Laura comes makes us feel so grateful. Besides my husband and me, he hasn't opened up to many people. So, to know how much he loves her really warms our hearts. We are so grateful to have someone in our son's life who cares so deeply for him and also provides high levels of speech instruction. I couldn't recommend Laura enough as she is someone we are so beyond thankful for!

Laura is an extremely caring and talented therapist. She has worked with our family for nearly 4 years and has helped our oldest overcome so many of her delays. Our youngest is now also in her care and we are excited to see difference she will make in his journey. I cannot recommend her enough!
