About Dr. Laura Kaplan
Dr. Kaplan joined Westwood Dermatology Group in 2022. She practices general and pediatric dermatology, seeing patients of all skin types and ages. Her clinical focus includes treatment of eczema, acne, warts, psoriasis, and total body scans to detect skin cancers and precancerous lesions. Additional areas of interest include laser treatments for hair removal, rosacea, angiomas and psoriasis, and neurotoxin for treatment of wrinkles and excess sweating. Dr. Kaplan believes in helping patients achieve beautiful healthy skin and natural results.
Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Women's Dermatology Society, and Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She has authored medical journal articles and textbook chapters on a variety of dermatologic subjects.
Dr. Kaplan graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College in 2011 where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She earned a post-baccalaureate certificate from Columbia University in 2012. Dr. Kaplan earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate in 2018, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her internship at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania, and residency in Dermatology at the State University of New York at Downstate in Brooklyn New York. Dr. Kaplan also served as Chief Resident of Cosmetics in Dermatology during her final year of training. She is Board Certified in Dermatology.
