“Dr. Morizio is one of the most insightful professionals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has accurately assessed countless students with great detail and put them on a more clear and successful path, advocating for their best interests. In addition, her "bedside" manner transforms even the most shy, anxious children into hopeful, confident beings. I cannot recommend Dr. Laura enough for any parent looking for the right path forward.”

Getting to know Dr. Laura Morizio Polley

Access testing and assessment without a waitlist at Coast Psychology. My practice focuses on the identification of learning disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, and other mental health conditions through psychological assessment. I specialize in Evaluations for IEPs and 504 Documentation, Testing and Evaluation, and Education and Learning Disabilities. I love working with kids of all ages as well as young adults. I enjoy creating an easygoing testing atmosphere so that my clients feel comfortable. My warm, comprehensive strengths-based approach will help provide clarity and guidance throughout the testing process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Given my training as both a licensed psychologist and school psychologist, my specialty is testing and diagnosis as it relates to learning and achievement. I embrace the beauty that lies within our collective neurodiversity and find great joy in discovering the strengths of each child I work with to help them feel seen, valued, and capable. "Testing" may seem like a scary word, but most clients describe the activities we complete as fun and interactive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment consists of a 15-minute phone call to better understand your concerns, determine how I may be able to help, and discuss fees, timeline, and expectations. You will be asked to complete some paperwork and assessments electronically before your first testing visit. We may also schedule a 30-60 minute virtual meeting before our testing appointment to gather additional background information. In-person testing typically takes place across 1-3 half-day sessions. Results are then reviewed and a report is generated within 4-6 weeks. We will meet virtually to review the results, discuss any diagnoses received, and answer any questions you have. You will then receive a copy of the report to share with your school and retain for your records.
