She walked me through all available treatment options, including next steps if initial treatments don’t work. The visit was quick and easy, and I was able to go on with my day. Since I live far, she also suggested a clinic closer to home that’s open on Sundays, which I appreciated. Overall, an easy, stress-free experience.”

About Laurel Callahan
Laurel Callahan is a board-certified Physician Assistant licensed in the state of New York specializing in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University she entered the field of medical sales which ultimately steered her towards becoming a Physician Assistant. She worked in Dermatology for 2 years prior to PA school which inspired her to pursue the speciality of Dermatology. Laurel is currently completing the TDS fellowship program under the guidance, supervision and mentorship of the knowledgeable and caring physicians in the group. She graduated from Frostburg State University’s PA program, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Laurel is a Pittsburgh native, but has called Washington D.C. home for 8 years prior to her move to NYC. Laurel is passionate about patient education and hopes that her patients feel comforted, confident, and reassured in their skin when leaving her office. Laurel is dedicated to providing high quality, individualized medical care to all patients.
On her days off, Laurel enjoys finding new restaurants and breweries in Brooklyn with her husband and 2 black labrador retrievers, Nelson and Ollie. During football season you can find her glued to the TV watching the Nittany Lions on Saturday and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Laurel is very excited to be working with The Dermatology Specialists!

The doctor was great, but the receptionist took a while, if you don’t have an appointment don’t go(not me everyone else didn’t have an appointment and was told to make one for another day) the medical assistant told me everything was done and to leave but the prescription wasn’t done for hours later. The doctor was pretty good, the receptionist had a bit of an attitude. And you’ll be told to do a form before the appointment that you’ve already completed prior. I thought it’d be quick, so it ahead of time. It doesn’t matter you’ll have to do it again
