About Laurel Poole
Laurel Poole is a board-certified physician assistant committed to helping her patients look and feel their very best. She is experienced in general dermatology for adults and children, as well as skin enhancement and rejuvenation, helping patients achieve and maintain a healthy, youthful image.
She grew up in a small town in Maine and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from the University of New Hampshire, graduating summa cum laude. Laurel then received a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Emory University in 2004 and has practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology ever since.
Laurel takes great pride in providing solid dermatology expertise with an emphasis on exceptional service and patient care. She enjoys taking the time to educate her patients about their individual skin conditions and needs.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants.
When she is not working, Laurel enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and good wine.

Felt that she was annoyed by asking questions, burned my sons hand so bad he ended up in urgent care with an infection and overall just a very non compassionate bedside manner…. Went to her a few years ago and decided to give her another try and now i remember why I left

I have no idea what was going on. I went in for some hair issues and a skin concern. I have medication for the hair. Absolutely no idea what it could even be! Never was told! I don’t know, the whole experience left much to be desired. I guess I will just leave this bandaid on til it falls off! No direction whatsoever.

The appointment itself was fine. I was more frustrated with locating the building and the entrance. The building numbers are not large enough to see while driving so I walked past each building. When I located the entrance that matched the photo on google I was disappointed to find a sign that said it was the handicap entrance only. They provided photos and arrows to help locate the main entrance but I had a hard time deciphering. They could have made directions more clear by also mentioning that the main entrance is on the South side of the building.

I had a great experience here. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was called back to the room right away and then Laurel came in to see my right away as well. Laurel was personable and had clear communication. I would come back here again!

I came here as a last minute appointment, as a non existing patient, I got there a half hour early for paperwork. I was called to the exam room on time, and didn't have to wait long for the Doctor. Staff was friendly, and office was clean. Best medical experience I've had in a long time.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. They got me in and out quickly without diminishing the level of care. They were able to diagnose a rash I had right away, took a sample for cancer screening and prescribed all of the needed medication in a quick and efficient manner. I highly recommend Laurel and all of the other medical personnel at Pinnacle Dermatology.

I have seen Laurel in the past and she is an awesome provider. She identified a melanoma on my leg early on, which saved my life. She has also found some basal cell cancers on my legs and on my scalp. I highly recommend her! She is a phenomenal provider!

Services were great. Staff was courteous and professional. Dr.Poole was great and very informative. Only problem was communicating with the office. Any time (6 times)we called no answer and directed to an answering machine saying they were busy and would call back. I called from outside the office to say I had arrived and ready to come in. No response. I walked in to find 2 people at the desk who weren't so busy.My wife tried to call about follow-up and a new appointment...never called back. Need to answer the phone.
