My name is Lauren Moyer and I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). As a psychiatric practitioner, it is my role to assist clients in navigating their mental health and wellness through therapeutic rapport and medication management. I work with populations that include adolescents and teens aged 13 and up, adults and persons 65+. I focus largely on treating depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar and mood spectrum disorders, and childhood and adult ADHD. I strive to provide a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as individuals from all different backgrounds. In sessions, I utilize therapy approaches that include supportive therapy, CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Throughout a session with me, clients can expect to feel supported, affirmed and learn additional ways of processing. After 13 years of experience as a bedside nurse, in a variety of specialties, I found my way into my first psychiatric nursing role at an eating recovery residential facility. It was there that I found my passion in psychiatric nursing. From there, I accepted roles at inpatient psychiatric facilities to further expand my knowledge and experience working with the mental health population. As a result of my experiences, I learned the best role for me would be as an advanced practice provider in psychiatry. I appreciate the opportunity to build ongoing rapport with my clients and assist them throughout their journey of mental well-being. I strive to provide holistic care to my clients by treating the entire person, not just a diagnosis. Building a collaborative therapeutic rapport is very important to me, as is educating my clients about their mental health in a way that allows them to feel empowered and navigate to their own long-term well-being. I very much look forward to and value the opportunity to assist you in creating your best version of mental well-being!
